Senior Leadership

Science and engineering.
A shared direction.

Our leadership team brings together complementary specialties in experimental science, preservation systems, imaging, and precision engineering. Each program is led by specialists working closely with the teams developing and evaluating the technology.

Portrait of Dr. Wei Wang

Dr. Wei Wang

Chief Scientific Officer

Specialty
Cellular assay development & experimental design

Wei leads scientific program planning and experimental review. His background spans cellular assay development, sample-quality assessment, and the translation of research requirements into measurable instrument specifications. He works with the program leads to define validation criteria and evaluate the reproducibility of results.

Portrait of Dr. Li Zhang

Dr. Li Zhang

Director of Preservation Systems

Specialty
Sample preservation & environmental control

Li leads Project Stillwater, with a focus on controlled storage environments and sample stability. Her background combines preservation-method development with environmental monitoring and laboratory quality workflows. She oversees storage-condition studies, recovery testing after power interruptions, and maintenance requirements for preservation systems.

Portrait of Dr. Jing Li

Dr. Jing Li

Director of Imaging & Analytics

Specialty
Automated microscopy & image analysis

Jing leads Project Continuum, developing workflows for repeatable image acquisition across long-running experiments. His background covers optical instrumentation, image processing, and research software. His team focuses on acquisition consistency, sample traceability, and the interpretation of changes observed over time.

Portrait of Dr. David Williams

Dr. David Williams

Director of Engineering

Specialty
Precision instrumentation & sensor integration

David leads engineering development for Project Relay and the integration of hardware across Rook’s research programs. His background includes embedded sensing, instrument verification, and laboratory automation. He focuses on dependable measurements, transport-condition monitoring, and practical systems that research teams can maintain and use consistently.
